We had a really short session today. We introduced a few bills, made a few announcements, then hit the road.I introduced four more bills and a resolution today. The most notable news, however, was a remonstrance filed by Senator Timmy Green (D - St. Louis County).
SRM1 is the first remonstrance I remember being filed since I have been in the senate. Senator Green blasted the Missouri Development Finance Board for issuing $25 million in tax credits to the Kansas City Chiefs, when the money could be better spent on health care, education or job creation. I have to say I agree with Senator Green.

because they suck? the Rams suck too. Where's their tax $$$?
Curry, the Rams received their tax dollars for the Dome in St. Louis. And STL received a lot more of it than KC did for the Truman Sports Complex renovations and the Chiefs' St. Joe training camp facility.
I certainly see the point about whether not it is cool to spend the money on sports facilities, but if we are going to do it I sure think it's important that the state's largest city receive its fair share.
Plus, St. Joe could really use an investment of this size. That facet is really getting lost in the debate. That $25 million is a huge sum for small, struggling city like St. Joseph, yet Kansas City taking the heat for it.
