We're debating the Bombardier project on the floor today. Click here to listen to the debate live.
I've been told we won't leave today until the bill is voted on by the entire Senate. We have spent more time on this issue than anything else this session.
Bottom line -- if MO lands this deal it would be a huge benefit for the state and more importantly, Kansas City. At the same time -- this is a massive amount of money. I've been impressed with the debate. The work the Senate has done on this bill so far has made it a better deal for the people of the state of Missouri. What do you think?

Don't like it! I've been listening to the debate, and the opponents have made many good points, each one of which is enough to make this not a good deal. Anything from reinvesting into other state developments, other businesses who are already in Missouri and viable, investing those credits in medicaid cuts or the MOHELA loan problem. I don't like that future projects that fall under this structure would only be decided on by the DED. I don't like that Bombardier is a sub-investment grade company. And I DO think that makes them junk bonds. I just got my $600 from the economic stimulus package, and it seems like it's just being cycled around, from my still high state income tax, to Canada, and maybe they'll create jobs, and maybe I'll make money, and then I'll just have to give it back to state and federal revenue. This deal is shady and ill-conceived, and I hope you're not fooled by the fancy package.
Rex! You read Jolie's blog too?
Hmmm
It's a lot of money and there is some anti-Canadian descent behind the debate.
What do I think Ehhh?
It's not a good political move and will probably come back and bite later!
Yo, yo' momma didn't go to Lincoln Days this year!
